DON'T BELIEVE 'THE SUN' RE PODOLSKI!

The red-tab newspaper would like you to believe that Arsenal are looking to offload Lukas Podolski this summer. Supposed interest from both Athletico Madrid and Juventus are setting the rumor-mills alight regarding our German forward.

But that's basically all this is - Other teams interested in another great player!

Christ if The Sun wrote an article every time Jack Wilshire or even better, every time Lionel Messi garnered interest from another club, then the newspaper would be as thick as a bloody phonebook!

27 year-old Podolski has only featured as a fringe player since arriving from Cologne for £10.9 million less than a year ago, but he definitely isn't going anywhere soon.

Lukas's prolonged ankle problem flared-up after he scored our only goal in the 3-1 defeat against former club Bayern Munich. As a result Lukas is set to miss the second leg along with Jack Wilshire and Wojciech Sczcesny who is being rotated with Lucasz Fabianski.

Podolski's ankle injury combined with an adaption to fitness is the main reason for his peripheral positioning on the sideline this season.

With 13 goals so far, his extremely strong start saw Podolski with one of the highest assist rates in the EPL this campaign.
As of late his form has fizzled due to fitness, and not due to Arsene Wenger demoting the player because of his lackadaisical approach to the game - This is what The Sun are suggesting to back up their headlines.

Steve Bould said this in a interview after Podolski's wonder-volley against Montpellier:

SB - "I've not seen many finishers as good as him - ever. Right foot, left foot. They always go in at 100mph in training. He's a good trainer, a good boy. He's really added something this year."

Podolski's safe at Arsenal this season. Yes Athletico and Juve could offer the German more in terms of a raise in his £100,000 per week salary, but they could do so to any Arsenal player.

The Sun should really concentrate on getting some fit 'Page 3 girls'.
